Exercise in D

This exercise is a very simple duet with opposing movement between the parts. Part one moves up while part two moves down. After the theme is stated once, there are three more variations, each getting a little more difficult, but based on the original. This one is meant as an alternative to playing straight scales, a good way to warm up or get familiar with the key before tackling a piece.

You can either choose piano, flute or horn to play along with. If you have a duet partner, there are charts for all instruments for both parts, but this sounds best when part two is played by the lower instrument.
