Drifting Along
Here's a nice relaxed jazz tune where we've written out the full piece (as opposed to a lead sheet). This will give you some insight into one way of varying a melody, and also give you a performance piece to learn.
There are three key changes (modulations) so watch out!
The accompaniment MP3's are available from Amazon.com. It is piano with some simple percussion (mostly high hat). The rehearsal version is slightly slower, and features a vibraphone melody to help with cueing as you learn the piece.
