This is a classic clarinet piece written for Bb clarinet and piano. We've adapted it for Eb alto clarinet. This piece suits the deeper tone of the alto quite nicely, and gives the alto clarinetist a fine, challenging piece to play.
It's in four sections, Allegretto, Allegro Animato, Lento, and Molto Allegro, featuring a very romantic theme. The animato section is more playful and lively, while the Lento is very dark and somber. Finally, the Molto Allegro is the most challenging section, very fast and strong. This classic piece gives a great range of moods and challenges the player's technique to the fullest.
The enclosed CD provides accompaniment, both during rehearsal and performance phases. The rehearsal set features slower tempi with a metronome click throughout, and the melody to help you learn the part. Either of these can be lowered or eliminated by adjusting your stereo balance while the piano part remains.
Next the piano is played at performance tempo, for final polishing and solo performance.
