Trumpet Sonata

This is a full length sonata with piano accompaniment that emphasizes smooth melodic lines. It is interesting yet not overly difficult. The opening theme is reminiscent of a pleasant, lively folk tune in 6/8, and it moves from there into a bluesy ballad section, and back to a lively rhythmic movement in cut time. Throughout there's a solid lines with some interesting ornamentation. It's a good performance work that that's not too tough to tackle and yet will stay in your repertoire. This makes a nice clarinet piece also!
