This masterwork is a collection of short pieces put together in one orchestral work, adapted here for flute and piano (score and parts available on rental). Titles of the movements include The Golden Willow Tree, White Throated Sparrow, Joke on the Puppy, Wondrous Love, Jacob's Ladder, Fly Around, My Pretty Little Miss, and Ellen Smith. Each melody flows into the other with connecting sections between. This is a challenging piece for the flutist and pianist both; highest ranges are used with plenty of rapid passages between the individual melodies.
