These three sonatas were originally written for viola da gamba and make excellent performance pieces for viola. First is Sonata in G #1027, then Sonata in D, #1028, and also Sonata in G minor #1029. Each is what you might expect from J.S. Bach - multi-part figures, chord-defining arpeggios, and tonal shifts within the key. The pieces are fairly long and will challenge your interpretational skills more than your technical skills. Piano accompaniment included.
